Avril Lavigne is following in the illustrious footsteps of Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce by creating her own clothing collection.

Called Abbey Dawn, the line is focused towards teenagers, and mirrors the pop rocker's own fashion style, combining a mixture of 'authentic rock with a feminine edge'.

"I'm thrilled to announce my clothing line Abbey Dawn. Abbey Dawn will aspire to be a unique and accessible reflection of my ever-changing style," the 23-year-old said in a press statement.

The collection will be exclusive to Kohl's department stores in the US, and is due to hit stores in July.

"Avril Lavigne is an accomplished artist with a dedicated fan base who appeals to a broad group of shoppers," said Don Brennan, Kohl's senior executive vice-president.

The back-to-school range has been created from looks directly from the Girlfriend singer's own closet and will be launched with two key looks - the first combines rock 'n' roll with femininity with bold colours and mix-and-match prints, while the other is a fusion of reggae and skater with traditional tartan plaid, checks and stripes.
